The Oscars was the perfect wrap up to award season and the red carpet satisfied our need for glamour.
There were a lot of standout leading ladies that graced the red carpet but some simply mesmerized us with their elegance and style.
We saw some vibrant color choices which is always exciting – but what we really loved was the wedding worthy gowns that were worn last night by some of Hollywood’s finest.
There were a couple of trends that we noticed that would make for bridal perfection.
1. A Vision in White – white gowns are the traditional bridal attire an these ladies gave us bridal inspiration as they walked the Oscars red carpet.
Lupita Nyong’o stuns every time she hits the red carpet and the 2015 Oscars was no exception. She looked absolutely amazing in a white pearl gown by Calvin Klein.
Rene Russo and Carmen Ejogo also opted for white gowns. Carmen’s Houghton gown is a little retro chic and would be perfect for a 1920s inspired wedding, while Rene Russo’s J. Mendel gown would be gorgeous for an ethereal garden wedding.
2. Sparkling All Over – sequins and beaded gowns have been a major trend in bridal and there were some amazing looks that are perfect for a bride.
Lady Gaga’s white Azzedine Alaia gown was embellished with silver detailing, with a full skirt her gown would be gorgeous for a waltz down the aisle. Lady Gaga recently got engaged and we could absolutely see her saying “I do” in a gown like this.
Anna Faris and Jennifer Lopez were both breathtaking in heavily detailed gowns. We loved that they went with a softer tone then a stark white, with Jennifer Lopez in a slightly blush colored Elie Saab gown and Anna in strapless off white Zuhair Murad gown.
With such highly detailed gowns we thought that forgoing major jewelry accessories was the perfect choice – letting all the detailing on the gowns shine.
3. Blush Tones – blush has been a growing trend in bridal with more and more brides opting for the subtle color. These red carpet ladies showed up and stood out in blush gowns with bridal approval.
Zoe Saldana’s Atelier Versace dress had that old Hollywood glamour. The soft blush tone and cross draping in the front enhanced her hourglass shape. For a black tie wedding for the non-traditional bride – this dress is perfection.
We also saw Karolina Kurkova and Viola Davis in a similar color palette. Karolina’s Marchesa gown was leaning more towards a pink blush – which we’ve seen many brides pull off flawlessly, while Viola Davis’ off the shoulder satin Zac Posed gown was softer more subtle blush tone.
4. Statement Colors – each season we see more bridal designers adding a little color to their bridal gown collections and Hollywood’s A-list came in bridal worthy dress in bridal worthy colors.
Felicity Jones was a bridal dream in her silver Alexander McQueen dress. Not every bride has to or wants to wear white – and for that daring bride, a soft silver is a beautiful alternative.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s one sleeve Ralph and Russo Couture dress was the perfect shade of bridal pink. The sleek fit and floral detail on the shoulder was a gorgeous bridal look for an evening black tie wedding.
Chrissy Teigen icy blue Zahair Murad gown is a standout look for the bride who steps outside tradition for a look truly her own. The color is sublte enough to replace bridal white and the beading is detailed enough to bring something special to your bridal look.
We hope you enjoyed the 2015 Oscar as much as we did.
