There is no law that says a bride has to wear white. In fact, white wedding gowns have only been in vogue since Queen Elizabeth married Prince Albert in a white dress in 1840, setting the bridal trend.
More and more brides are opting out of the traditional white dress, especially celebrity brides.
Going for a pop of color, floral print or soft ombre is becoming increasingly more popular and designers are responding to this trend by including more colored gowns in their collections.
Pink or blush wedding gowns is a safe step outside of bridal white, but we have seen even more daring bridal style from celebs.
Most recently, Liberty Ross married Jimmy Iovine in a vintage Givenchy black lace gown. The model made a dramatic statement at her Valentine’s Day wedding.
But Liberty Ross wasn’t the only celebrity bride to walk down the aisle in a black wedding dress.
Sara Jessica Parker wore black on her wedding day back in 1997.
Shenae Grimes also chose to wear black for her nuptials with this stunning Vera Wang tulle gown.
Dita Von Teese made real a bridal statement in her deep purple wedding gown by Vivienne Westwood.
Going for another daring color, Chrissy Tiegen walked down the aisle in white but changed into a red Vera Wang dress for the reception.
Poppy Delevingne showed up in colorful floral prints at her second wedding in Morocco, after she wore a custom Chanel white wedding gown during her London nuptials.
And who could forget Jessica Biel, pretty in pink floral Giambattista Valli wedding dress as she married Justin Timberlake.
